DIY Candle Blends

DIY Candle Blends

If you are a fan of our Sweater Weather DIY Beeswax Candle recipe, you might be looking for other ideas to create more candles. Well, we have answered your call with some brand new recipes. Great for holiday gifts or just to add some ambiance to your own home.

*Keep in mind that candles made with Essential Oils are not going to smell as strong as store bought fake fragrance candles. You will need to use quite a few drops and also use stronger smelling oils.

Here is what you need for the base recipe:

4 oz Mason Jar
4 oz Beeswax (pellets work well)
1 Cotton Wick
Double Boiler
Clothespin or Chopsticks to hold wick in place
Essential Oil Blend of your choice
Optional: 1 T Coconut Oil (for even burning and stronger scent)

Frosty Forest

Heavenly Holiday

Winter Delight

How to Make:

You can use a double boiler or a pot of water and a glass measuring cup to melt the wax. Pour in 4 ounces of beeswax and add the coconut oil if using. Melt over medium heat, this will take a while, be patient. Once melted, remove from heat, add in the Essential Oils and stir well (a disposable wooden stir stick works). Place your cotton wick in the bottom, center of the ball jar. A little trick is to put chopsticks on either side of the wick holding it in place or you can use a clothespin. Quickly pour the mix into the jar and let it cool/harden.

How to Use:

Trim the wick to about ½ inch and light it. Enjoy your DIY Candle!
